2 ships carrying 1.25 lakh tonnes of LNG in Ctg, another 1 arriving on April 4
Two ships carrying a total of 123,000 tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) have arrived at the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port.
According to port sources, one of these ships arrived yesterday (Thursday) and the other today (March 27). Another ship carrying about 70,000 tonnes of LNG is scheduled to arrive on April 4.
It is reported that HL Puffin arrived at Kutubdia anchorage from Australia with 61,997 tonnes of LNG on Thursday. Similarly, New Brave arrived at the port on Friday with 61,000 tonnes of LNG from Indonesia.
In addition, another ship named Celsius Galapagos carrying 70,000 tonnes of LNG from the United States is scheduled to arrive by the end of next week.
Petrobangla sources said that although a total of 9 LNG cargoes were scheduled to arrive this month, 7 have arrived so far. Two cargoes from Qatar have not yet arrived and are currently at the Ras Laffan port in Qatar.
Earlier, it was reported that Bangladesh imported a total of 2.5 million 86 thousand tons of LNG in 2025. The largest portion of this came from various countries including Qatar and the United States.
