2 SSC examinees stabbed for refusing to show answer scripts, 4 students held

Two examinees were stabbed by some examinees who had taken the exam at the SSC exam hall in Mirsarai, Chattogram, over not showing their answer sheets. In this incident that took place, the Zorarganj Police Station arrested four SSC examinees in an overnight raid on Sunday. They were sent to jail through a court on Monday afternoon.

Police said that on Sunday around 1:30pm, during the SSC science exam at the Bariyarhat College center, some examinees requested the two examinees who were attacked to show their answer sheets. When they did not agree, 10 to 12 examinees stabbed them in front of the college gate on their way home after the exam. The two injured were treated at a private hospital in Bariyarhat Municipality. The injured Shakhawat Hossain Jihan received 19 stitches and Muhammad Munayem received 32 stitches — a total of 51 stitches. The four detainees were taking exams from a school in Karerhat, while the two students who were attacked were students from a school in Bariyarhat.

Jihan's father, Md. Alamgir, who was injured in the incident, filed a case with Zorarganj Police Station on Sunday night. Along with the seven people named in the complaint, 4 to 5 other unidentified people have been named as accused in the case. The police did not reveal the details of the identities of the four detained teenagers as they are under 18 years of age. The operation to arrest the remaining accused is ongoing, said Zorarganj Police Station OC Md. Abdul Halim.
