2 youths crushed under train wheel while making TikTok video

Two youths died after being run over by a train while filming a TikTok video at Gazipur's Dhirashram railway station. They were crushed under the Dhaka-bound Teesta Express train around 9:15pm on Wednesday (May 13).

The names of the deceased could not be immediately ascertained, but police have confirmed that both of them are youths.

Local residents and eyewitnesses said that Dhirashram railway station is quite popular with TikTokers due to its aesthetic architecture. Many people come there to film videos even at night as the station has adequate lighting. The two youths were standing on the railway tracks and were making TikTok videos on Wednesday night. At that time, the Dhaka-bound Teesta Express train leaving Dewanganj ran over them and they lost their lives on the spot.

Confirming the incident, Joydebpur Railway Police Outpost In-charge Mohammad Qayyum Ali said, "They were hit by the Dhaka-bound Teesta Express train coming from Dewanganj at Dhirashram at 9:15pm. One of the deceased is approximately 20 years old and the other is 35 years old. The bodies of the two were recovered that night and sent to the morgue of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College in Gazipur for autopsy."
