At least 20 students received treatment at the Emergency Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital following a clash between the students of Butex and Polytechnic Institute on Sunday night (24 November). Confirming the matter, Inspector of the DMCH police outpost Md Faruk said no students were admitted to the hospital as their injuries were not critical. The fight started on Sunday evening after students of the Polytechnic Institute's Latif Hall allegedly got into an argument over the entry of a suspected Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activist into the Aziz Hall of Butex, said locals and police.

ঢাকা পলিটেকনিক ইনস্টিটিউট ও বাংলাদেশ টেক্সটাইল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (বুটেক্স) শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে সংঘর্ষের পর আহত অন্তত ২০ জনকে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালের (ডিএমসিএইচ) জরুরি বিভাগে চিকিৎসা দেয়া হয়েছে। রোববার (২৪ নভেম্বর) রাতে এই সংঘর্ষের ঘটনা ঘটে। ডিএমসিএইচ পুলিশ ফাঁড়ির পরিদর্শক মো. ফারুক বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করে বলেন, আহত কেউই গুরুতর নয়, ফলে তাদের হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করার প্রয়োজন হয়নি। স্থানীয়রা ও পুলিশ জানায়, রোববার সন্ধ্যায় এ সংঘর্ষ শুরু হয়। অভিযোগ উঠেছে, পলিটেকনিক ইনস্টিটিউটের লতিফ হলের শিক্ষার্থীরা বুটেক্সের আজিজ হলে সন্দেহভাজন এক ছাত্রলীগ কর্মীর প্রবেশ নিয়ে বাকবিতণ্ডায় জড়িয়ে পড়ে।
