2,000 tourists allowed overnight stays at Saint Martin's in Dec-Jan
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, and Water Resources, said that there are unnecessary concerns surrounding Saint Martin's Island. She stressed that the government is working to protect the island while also encouraging tourism. In December and January, a maximum of 2,000 tourists will be permitted to stay overnight each day.
Rizwana Hasan made these remarks after the One Health Day event at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Monday (November 4).
She said, "Visitors to Saint Martin's in November must travel during the day and return the same day. In December and January, a maximum of 2,000 tourists will be allowed to stay overnight each day."
"We must not only discuss human rights but also recognize wildlife rights. It's essential to change our mindset about the environment and wildlife," the adviser added.
