A total of 202 educational institutions recorded a zero pass rate in HSC exams-2025, a sharp rise from 65 institutions last year—an increase of more than three times.

This year, 12,51,111 students from 11 education boards took the exam.
Among them, 9 General Education Boards had 10,55,398 candidates, a decrease of 72,883 from last year, across 4,808 institutions and 1,605 centers.
Madrasa Board had 86,102 Alim candidates from 2,682 madrasas, appearing in 459 centers—down by 1,974 students.
Technical Board saw 1,09,611 candidates (HSC Vocational & Diploma in Commerce) from 1,824 institutions at 733 centers, 7,025 fewer than last year.
This is the first time since the pandemic that exams were held with full marks, full duration, and full syllabus. In previous years, assessments were modified due to COVID-19 disruptions, with auto-passes, short syllabus, and subject mapping.
