2026 SSC exams to be held in short syllabus

The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has announced that the 2026 SSC and equivalent examinations will be conducted based on a short syllabus for regular students, as per a notice issued on Tuesday (August 26).

Professor SM Kamal Uddin Haider, controller of examinations of the Dhaka Board, signed in the notification.

The revised syllabus has been prepared by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) and will apply only to students appearing for the first time.

However, students appearing as irregular candidates—those who failed in previous years or are retaking exams to improve grades—will have to sit for the exams based on the full syllabus of 2025.
