204 new dengue cases reported nationwide
A total of 204 new dengue cases were reported across the country in the 24 hours between Thursday 8:00 AM and Friday 8:00 AM, according to a bulletin issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.
Barisal Division accounted for the highest number of new infections, with 101 cases—exactly half of the national total. No new dengue-related deaths were reported during this period.
The DGHS said that, of the remaining cases, 38 were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation, 22 from areas under the Dhaka Division (outside the city corporations), 19 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 10 in Rajshahi Division, 9 in Chattogram Division, and 5 in Mymensingh Division.
In the same 24-hour period, 254 patients were discharged from hospitals across the country. With this, the total number of recovered patients this year has risen to 10,336.
Since the beginning of the year, 11,660 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide. The virus has so far claimed 45 lives in 2025, the DGHS report stated.
