21 arrested with drugs, weapons in Geneva Camp raid

Police have arrested 21 people with heroin, locally made weapons, and life jackets in a special anti-drug raid at Geneva Camp in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.

The operation was conducted on Sunday, September 28, from 8pm to 10:50pm.

Recovered items include 300 grammes of heroin, 250 grammes of cannabis, one machete, two swords, 10 slingshots, 2,000 marbles, 20 helmets, 12 life jackets, and five iron rods.

The matter was confirmed by Mohammad Jewel Rana, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Mohammadpur Zone under Tejgaon Division.

He said: “We are regularly conducting anti-drug operations in Mohammadpur. As part of this drive, a raid was carried out in Geneva Camp, the stronghold of drug dealers. Twenty-one people were arrested with heroin and locally made weapons used in clashes during raids at different houses and dens of drug peddlers. At the same time, these hideouts were demolished. Our anti-drug operations in Geneva Camp will continue.”
