212 new dengue patients hospitalized in 24 hrs
Over the last 24 hours, 212 new dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country. However, no dengue-related deaths have been reported during this time.
This information was shared in the daily dengue update issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday (June 18).
According to the report, among the newly infected patients in the past 24 hours: 110 were from Barishal Division (outside City Corporation), 16 from Chattogram Division, 23 from Dhaka Division (outside City Corporation), 17 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 33 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 12 from Khulna Division, and 1 from Mymensingh Division (outside City Corporation).
During the same period, 189 dengue patients were released from hospitals after recovery. So far this year, a total of 6,678 people have been hospitalized due to dengue. Among them, 59.3% are male and 40.7% female. A total of 30 people have died from dengue in 2024 so far.
In comparison, in 2023, 321,179 people were hospitalized due to dengue, and 1,705 people died. In 2024, the number of cases was 101,214, with 575 reported deaths.
