220 Bangladeshis stuck at Kolkata airport reach Dhaka

220 Bangladeshis stuck at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport have reached Dhaka. All of them were returning to Dhaka from Malaysia.

The Malindo Air flight that left Kolkata at 1:30 am on Monday (January 6) landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:30 am, said Riaz Uddin Fahadi, a passenger on the plane.

Earlier, on Sunday (January 5) night, a Malindo Air flight (flight number OD-162) en route from Kuala Lumpur to Dhaka made an emergency landing in Kolkata due to dense fog. The plane was scheduled to arrive in Dhaka at 3 am.

The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport authority said that although the plane was scheduled to arrive in Dhaka at 2:30 am, it landed in Kolkata with 220 passengers due to dense fog.
