The deployment aims to maintain peace, ensure the safety of workers and the public, and keep daily life and industrial operations running normally.

The troops were deployed on Wednesday, 4 November, in key areas of Savar-Ashulia, Gazipur and Narayanganj.

Of the total, five platoons have been deployed in Hemayetpur, Ashulia and Baipail in Savar; 13 in Gazipur’s Chowrasta, Bhogra Bypass, Porabari, Masterbari power area, Telipara, Safipur, Chandra and Kaliakair; and six in Narayanganj, covering the deputy commissioner’s office, Chashara, Jalkuri Bridge, the BSCIC industrial area and Kanchpur Bridge.

The information was provided in a press release issued by BGB headquarters on Wednesday.

According to the statement, BGB personnel are working in close coordination with the local administration and other law enforcement agencies.

Regular patrols and security operations are continuing to maintain an environment in which workers can pursue their legitimate demands peacefully, ensure uninterrupted public movement and prevent any untoward incidents, the statement added.
