Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has announced that the 2.5 percent incentive for expatriate income will continue.

He said that the government is continuing the 2.5 percent cash incentive for sending remittances through legal channels to continue the trend of increasing expatriate income.

He said this in the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 in the budget session of the National Assembly on Thursday (June 11).

The Finance Minister said that the month after our government took power, i.e. in March this year, the monthly remittances sent by expatriates reached $3.75 billion, which is the highest in a single month in the country's history. This flow of remittances is a reflection of the trust and confidence of expatriate Bangladeshis in our democratic government. We hope that this trend will continue.
