A total of 273 Sub-Inspectors (SIs) of the Bangladesh Police have been promoted to the rank of Inspector. The information was disclosed in a circular signed by Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Afrida Rubaiyat from the Police Headquarters on November 3. According to the circular, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has approved the promotion of 273 Sub-Inspectors, including 148 unarmed officers, 97 armed officers, and 28 city and traffic sergeants. The promotion order, issued in the interest of public service, has taken immediate effect, the circular added.

বাংলাদেশ পুলিশের ২৭৩ জন উপ-পরিদর্শক (এসআই) পরিদর্শক পদে পদোন্নতি পেয়েছেন। সোমবার (৩ নভেম্বর) পুলিশ সদর দপ্তরের সহকারী মহাপরিদর্শক (এআইজি) আফরিদা রুবাইয়াত স্বাক্ষরিত এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়। বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়েছে, পুলিশ মহাপরিদর্শক (আইজিপি) ২৭৩ জন উপ-পরিদর্শককে পরিদর্শক পদে পদোন্নতির অনুমোদন দিয়েছেন। এর মধ্যে ১৪৮ জন নিরস্ত্র, ৯৭ জন সশস্ত্র এবং ২৮ জন সিটি ও ট্রাফিক সার্জেন্ট রয়েছেন। জনস্বার্থে জারি করা এ পদোন্নতির আদেশটি তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে কার্যকর হবে বলে বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে।
