A group of 28 Bangladeshi nationals has safely returned to Dhaka from Iran.

They arrived in the capital on Tuesday morning (July 1), concluding a multi-leg journey coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to official sources, the returnees traveled from Tehran to Karachi by road, crossing the Iran-Pakistan border on June 25. From Karachi, they were flown to Dubai before boarding a final flight to Dhaka.

The repatriation comes in the wake of escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, prompting the Bangladeshi government to take urgent steps to ensure the safety of its citizens in the affected areas.

This group marks the first batch of Bangladeshis to be brought back from Iran since the situation began to deteriorate. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that efforts are ongoing to assist any remaining Bangladeshi nationals still in the region.
