A cargo vessel from Vietnam carrying 29,000 tonnes of rice has arrived at Chattogram Port . The vessel, MV OBE Dinares anchored at the Port, said a Food Ministry press release on Saturday. The press note said that testing of samples of rice has already been completed and the process of unloading the rice will begin soon. An agreement was signed to import 100,000 metric tons of rice from Vietnam on a G2G basis. Of this, a total of 30,300 metric tons of rice in two consignments have arrived in Bangladesh.

ভিয়েতনাম থেকে আরও ২৯ হাজার টন চাল দেশে এসেছে। এভি ওবিই ডিনারেস নামের জাহাজটি চাল নিয়ে চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরে নোঙর করেছে। শনিবার (২২ মার্চ) খাদ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের সিনিয়র তথ্য অফিসার ও জনসংযোগ কর্মকর্তা ইমদাদ ইসলাম স্বাক্ষরিত একটি সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়। এতে বলা হয়, ভিয়েতনাম থেকে ‘জি টু জি’ ভিত্তিতে মোট ১ লাখ টন চাল আমদানির চুক্তি হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে দুটি চালানে মোট ৩০ হাজার ৩০০ টন চাল ইতোমধ্যে দেশে পৌঁছেছে। জাহাজে রক্ষিত চালের নমুনা পরীক্ষা ইতোমধ্যে শেষ হয়েছে এবং চাল খালাসের কার্যক্রম দ্রুত শুরু হবে। এ জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।
