3 abducted at gunpoint in Teknaf

Three individuals, including two farmers and a teenage boy, were abducted at gunpoint on Thursday afternoon while working on farmland near a hill in the Baharchhara Chowkidarpara area of Teknaf upazila.

The victims have been identified as Md. Ali (32), Bhutto (45), and Honya (14), all residents of Uttar Shilkhali Para in Baharchhara Union.

According to police, the three were working in the fields when unidentified assailants approached and forcibly took them away at gunpoint.

Abu Zayed Md. Nazmun Noor, officer-in-charge (OC) of Teknaf Model Police Station, confirmed the incident.

“Upon receiving information, police launched a rescue operation. Efforts are underway to locate and safely recover the victims,” he said.

The motive behind the abduction remains unknown. Authorities have intensified operations in the area and are continuing their investigation.
