Police have arrested three individuals on charges of raping a 15-year-old girl and circulating an objectionable video of the assault in Kundipur village under Chuadanga Sadar upazila. Following the incident, the victim's mother filed a rape case at the Sadar Police Station, naming four suspects.

Law enforcement personnel detained the three accused during a drive conducted in Kundipur village on Wednesday night (May 20).

The arrestees have been identified as Abdul Ali, 45, son of Kader Bepari; Joni Hossain, 21, son of Hossein Ali from Mandal Para; and Palash Ali, 20, son of Abdul Kader. All three are residents of Kundipur village in Chuadanga Sadar upazila.

According to the case statement, the incident occurred on the afternoon of April 14 when the girl went to a local field to bring back her goats. The absconding prime suspect, Miraj, allegedly intercepted the girl, dragged her into a cornfield, and forcibly violated her. Another accused, Palash, recorded the assault on his mobile phone, while Joni stood guard outside the cornfield.

The perpetrators later threatened the victim, warning her that the video would be leaked online and made viral if she disclosed the matter to anyone. Within a few days, the video of the assault was circulated to various people's mobile phones from the suspects' devices.

The case statement further notes that when the victim's family learned of the incident, the accused Palash demanded Tk 30,000 to delete the video. Another accused, Abdul Ali, demanded Tk 5,000 under the pretext of settling the matter socially and removing the clip.

Confirming the arrest of the three suspects, Mizanur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station, stated, "The police detained the three accused as soon as the circulation of the video came to our notice. The victim will undergo a medical examination today, and the suspects will be produced before the court."

The OC added that a police operation is currently underway to apprehend the prime suspect, Miraj.
