3 Bangladeshis killed in Malaysia, co-worker arrested

Three Bangladeshi nationals have been killed and another injured following a violent altercation among Bangladeshi workers in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Police have arrested one of their Bangladeshi co-workers in connection with the killings.

The incident was reported by Malaysian newspaper New Straits Times on Tuesday.

According to police, officers responded to reports of a fight involving several Bangladeshi nationals at a house in Taman Linggi at around 4:15pm on Monday. One Bangladeshi man was arrested at the scene.

During the subsequent investigation, police recovered the bodies of three Bangladeshi nationals from the Sua Manggis Estate area in Linggi.

Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the victims had sustained severe injuries to various parts of their bodies. Preliminary findings suggest they died as a result of those injuries.

Another Bangladeshi worker who was injured in the incident has been admitted to Rembau Hospital, where he remains under treatment.

Police said preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased, the injured worker and the suspect were employed by the same company and lived in the same accommodation.

Investigators believe the incident may have unfolded across more than one location. The motive behind the killings has yet to be established, and the investigation is ongoing.

Police also said the arrested Bangladeshi national had no previous criminal record. He has been produced before the Port Dickson Magistrate's Court, where police applied for a remand order.

The case is being investigated as murder under Section 302 of the Malaysian Penal Code. However, the motive and exact circumstances surrounding the killings have not yet been determined.
