Three buses have been set on fire in Dhaka's Ashulia, Tikatuli, Motijheel areas. No one was injured in the incidents, say police. According to Fire Service and Civil Defence sources, a staff bus of Delta Life Insurance was set on fire around 9:40pm in Tikatuli area. Another staff bus of 'Shilpa Bank' was set on fire in the capital's Motijheel area. A bus of Itihas Paribahan was set on fire at Kabirpur of Ashulia in Dhaka around 7:30pm on the Nabinagar-Chandra highway. Meanwhile, the Mohammadpur police have claimed that they arrested two Jubo Dal leaders red-handed when they were trying to set a bus on fire from the area.

বিএনপির ডাকা ৩৬ ঘণ্টার অবরোধের আগের দিন ঢাকায় যাত্রীবাহী তিনটি বাসে আগুন দিয়েছে দুর্বৃত্তরা। সোমবার (১১ ডিসেম্বর) আশুলিয়া, টিকাটুলি এবং মতিঝিলে এসব ঘটনা ঘটে। এতে কেউ হতাহত হননি বলে জানিয়েছে পুলিশ। ফায়ার সার্ভিস ও সিভিল ডিফেন্স সূত্রে জানা যায়, সোমবার (১১ ডিসেম্বর) রাত ৯টা ৪০ মিনিটের দিকে টিকাটুলি এলাকায় ডেল্টা লাইফ ইন্স্যুরেন্সের একটি স্টাফ বাসে আগুন দেওয়া হয়। মতিঝিলে শিল্প বণিকের আরেকটি স্টাফ বাসে অগ্নিসংযোগ করে দুর্বৃত্তরা। এ ছাড়া একইদিন সন্ধ্যা সাড়ে ৭টার দিকে আশুলিয়ার কবিরপুরে নবীনগর-চন্দ্রা মহাসড়কে ইতিহাস পরিবহনের একটি বাসে আগুন দেওয়া হয়। মোহাম্মদপুর থানা পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, ওই এলাকায় একটি বাসে অগ্নিসংযোগের সময় দুই যুবদল নেতাকে হাতেনাতে আটক করা হয়েছে।
