3 coaches of Kalni Express detach at Ashuganj

Three coaches of the Kalni Express train got detached while it was in motion near Talshahar Railway Station in Ashuganj Upazila, Brahmanbaria, around noon on Thursday.

The incident caused temporary suspension of train services on the up line for Dhaka–Sylhet and Dhaka–Chittagong routes. However, trains continued to operate on the down line. No injuries were reported, but passengers were reportedly alarmed.

According to Talshahar Stationmaster Md. Shahidul Islam, the last three coaches of the Dhaka-bound Kalni Express, which had departed from Brahmanbaria, became detached due to a joint failure while passing the station.

Railway authorities quickly responded by bringing the engine and front coaches back to reconnect the detached coaches. Normal service is expected to resume shortly.
