3 committees including Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP dissolved, 14 expelled

Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP, Jubo Dal and Metropolitan West Chatra Dal committees have been declared dissolved. At the same time 14 persons of various levels of BNP, Chatra Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Sramik Dal have been expelled.

These decisions were informed in separate press releases of the concerned parties and organizations on Wednesday.

Recently the allegation of involvement of some local leaders-workers arose in the incident of attack and vandalism at mother and child healthcare centre RADDA MCH-FP Centre in Mirpur of the capital. These organizational decisions came amid the discussion on this.

However there is no mention of the incident of attack at RADDA in the party press releases. The allegation of activities against party discipline and immoral activities has been said as the reason for expulsion. The expiry of the term has been mentioned as the reason for the dissolution of the committees of Jubo Dal and Chatra Dal.

It has been said in the press release signed by Joint Office Secretary of BNP Muhammad Munir Hossain that the 51-member convening committee of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP formed with Md Aminul Islam as the convener and Md Mostafa Zaman as the member secretary has been dissolved. The new committee of Metropolitan North BNP will be declared soon. However no reason for the dissolution of the committee has been mentioned in the press release.

In another press release of BNP on the same day the expulsion of three persons was informed. They are Joint Convener of Shah Ali Thana BNP Khalil Chowdhury, General Secretary of C-Block Unit BNP Anwar Hossain and member of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Hafizur Rahman Shukku. It has been informed in the press release that they have been expelled from the primary membership of BNP including all levels of party positions on the allegation of immoral activities including organization-opposing activities.

It has been said in the press release signed by Joint General Secretary of Jubo Dal and in charge of the office Minhajul Islam Bhuiyan that the committee of Dhaka Metropolitan North Jubo Dal has been declared dissolved due to the expiry of the term. Central president of the organization Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan have enforced this decision.

On the other hand the dissolution of the committee of Dhaka Metropolitan West branch has been informed in the press release signed by Office Secretary of Chatra Dal Md Jahangir Alam. This committee has been dissolved due to the expiry of the term. It has also been mentioned in the press release that the new committee will be declared soon.

Meanwhile Convener of Darussalam Thana Swechchhasebak Dal Md Akhtar Hossain Mamun and Member Secretary Md Hafizur Rahman have been expelled from the party positions on the clear allegation of being involved in activities contrary to party discipline. The instruction of not maintaining any type of contact with them has been given to the leaders-workers of all levels of the organization.

It has been said in the press release signed by Joint Office Secretary of Swechchhasebak Dal Md Osman Gani that Central President of the organization SM Jilani and General Secretary Rajib Ahsan have approved this decision.

Besides four persons of Sramik Dal have been expelled from all levels of positions of the organization. They are Joint Convener of Shah Ali Thana Sramik Dal Monir Hossain, President of Shah Ali Thana Autorickshaw Sramik Dal Jahangir Hossain, member Huzaifa and Convener of Darussalam Thana Sramik Dal Golam Rasul Parvez.

It has been said in the press release signed by Publicity and Publication Secretary of Sramik Dal Manzurul Islam Manzur that they have been expelled on the allegation of being involved in activities contrary to party discipline. Central President of the organization Anwar Hossain and General Secretary Nurul Islam Khan Nasim have approved this decision.

Earlier President of 91 Number Ward BNP of Pallabi Thana of Dhaka Metropolitan North Mofizur Rahman Mamun was expelled from the party on Tuesday. The party has informed of taking this measure against him on the charge of immoral activities including organization-opposing activities.

It has been learnt citing party sources that Mamun controls a force in Mirpur from Malaysia. His two brothers Jamil Rahman and Mashiur Rahman operate that force in the country. There are allegations against them of controlling extortion, jhut business, land grabbing and drug business in Pallabi, Mirpur-12, Sagupta and Baunia areas of Mirpur.
