3 detained in Cox’s Bazar murder case

Police have arrested three prime suspects in connection with the shocking murder of a mother and her child in Kutubdia.

The suspects include Nurul Absar Nur (also known as Nuru Saudagar), Mosharaf Hossain (32), and Sakib Hassan Rana (15).

Arman Hossain, chief of Kutubdia Police Station, confirmed that the arrest took place on Sunday evening (October 27).

The investigation indicates that the murders were premeditated, stemming from Nur’s extramarital relationship with another woman.

Police have filed a petition seeking a seven-day remand for the suspects to facilitate further interrogation, although the court has yet to make a ruling on the request.

OC Arman said, "Evidence linking the suspects to the crime has been uncovered, including four mobile phones belonging to the deceased that were found in their possession."

"Further clarity on the case will emerge once the remand is granted and the suspects are thoroughly questioned," he added.
