3 die in motorcycle accident during Eid holidays, 82 admitted to DMCH

At least three people have died and 82 have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) due to 172 motorcycle accidents that occurred in the capital and its surrounding areas during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.

These accidents happened from 12:00pm, Wednesday (April 10) to 9:30pm, Thursday (April 11), Inspector Md Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police camp, told the media on Thursday night.

He said, “Due to the Eid holidays, the roads are already empty. On this occasion, motorcyclists were riding motorcycles at a reckless speed and were victims of this accident, according to their relatives. From 12:00pm yesterday to 9:30pm today, 172 motorcycle accident victims were brought to the emergency department at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital and 82 of them have been admitted. Three people have already died. The on-duty doctors told us that the condition of many others is critical.”

Bachchu Mia said, “We informed the police stations concerned about each accident. They will take care of it.”
