3 die of dengue in 24 hrs

Three people have died from dengue fever in the last 24 hours, while 363 others were admitted to hospitals across the country, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported on Thursday (September 4).

According to the Health Emergency Operation Center, 112 patients were admitted in Dhaka, 88 in Barishal Division (excluding City Corporation areas), 70 in Dhaka Division outside the city, 50 in Chattogram Division, 16 each in Khulna and Rajshahi Divisions, 10 in Mymensingh, and one in Sylhet Division during the 24-hour period from Wednesday 8 am to Thursday 8 am.

So far this year, dengue has claimed 130 lives—71 men and 59 women—with a total of 33,309 hospitalizations nationwide. Health authorities continue to urge citizens to take preventive measures against mosquito breeding and seek immediate medical attention if symptoms appear.
