3 die with measles symptoms in 24 hours, 1,356 infected
Three more people have died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours. The deaths occurred between 8am on Sunday, October 4, and 8am on Monday, October 5. However, no one died of confirmed measles during this period. During the same period, 1,356 people were infected with measles and measles symptoms.
The information was provided in a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services. It said 1,026 children have died with measles symptoms in the country from March 15 to date. During this period, 102 children died after being diagnosed with measles. With this, the number of child deaths from measles and measles symptoms has so far reached 1,128.
According to DGHS data, the number of suspected measles patients in the country in the last 24 hours was 1,296, and 60 people were confirmed with measles. A total of 1,356 children were infected with measles and measles symptoms.
From March 15 to date, a total of 175,336 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospital. Among them, 168,142 have so far recovered and left hospital.
According to DGHS data, measles symptoms have appeared in 197,722 people in the country from March 15 of the current year to date. During this period, measles was detected in 21,808 people.
