Three fishermen lost their lives after a fishing trawler sank near Kutubdia of Cox’s Bazar. The deceased have been identified as Md. Shorif, Md. Shojib, and Md. Nazim, all residents of Noakhali Sadar, police confirmed. Their bodies were recovered by fellow fishermen early on Thursday (September 11) and later sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for autopsy. According to eyewitnesses, the trawler capsized late Tuesday night (September 9) after getting caught in fishing nets. Eight other fishermen on board managed to survive by floating in the sea for several hours. The remaining fishermen were rescued with the help of another trawler, which also recovered the bodies of the deceased and the damaged vessel after around 15 hours of search on Wednesday.

কক্সবাজারের কুতুবদিয়ায় মাছ ধরার একটি ট্রলার ডুবে তিন জেলের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। অন্য ট্রলারের জেলেরা তাদের মরদেহ উদ্ধার করে বৃহস্পতিবার (১১ সেপ্টেম্বর) ভোরে চট্টগ্রাম উপকূলে নিয়ে আসে। পরে সেগুলো ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য চট্টগ্রাম মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে পাঠানো হয়। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, নিহত তিন জেলে হলেন মো. শরীফ, মো. সজীব ও মো. নাজিম। তাদের সবার বাড়ি নোয়াখালী সদরে। ট্রলারে থাকা অন্য জেলে ও স্বজনরা জানান, গত মঙ্গলবার (৯ সেপ্টেম্বর) গভীর রাতে জালে আটকে স্রোতের টানে পড়ে মুহূর্তেই ডুবে যায় ট্রলারটি। এ সময় ট্রলারের অন্য আটজন উল্টে যাওয়া ট্রলার ধরে কয়েক ঘণ্টা সাগরে ভাসতে থাকেন; কিন্তু ওই তিনজন ট্রলারের কেবিনের ভেতর আটকে পড়ে মারা যান। পরে অন্য একটি ট্রলারের সহায়তায় বাকি জেলেরা রক্ষা পান। গতকাল বুধবার (১০ সেপ্টেম্বর) থেকে খোঁজাখুঁজির পর প্রায় ১৫ ঘণ্টা পর নিহতদের মরদেহ ও ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত ট্রলার খুঁজে পান তারা।
