3 held over cocktail explosions in Dhanmondi

Police have arrested three people over two consecutive cocktail explosions in front of Meena Bazar at Road No. 27 in the capital's Dhanmondi.

Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Imdadul Islam conveyed this information on Saturday, September 26.

He said two consecutive cocktail explosions occurred in front of Meena Bazar at Road No. 27 in Dhanmondi around 12:15pm. Later, three people were arrested from the scene.

He further said the scene is in the border area of Mohammadpur and Dhanmondi police stations. Police are working to find out the details of the incident.

Meanwhile, Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Halim said one person was arrested while fleeing after exploding cocktails during a flash procession of the banned Awami League in the Dhanmondi area.

It was learned that the procession, led by Mohammadpur Thana Awami League member secretary Tarekuzzaman, began from Sat Masjid Road and ended in front of Bata Showroom via Dhanmondi Ibn Sina Hospital. At that time, several cocktail explosions occurred.
