Three students including a school boy were injured in a clash between two factions over the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement committee.
The injured were later admitted to the emergency department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital.
The injured are Nahian, 16, a 10th-grade student at Mirpur Manipur School and College, and Roni, 21, and Safran, 22, both students at Dhaka Polytechnic Institute.
The incident took place at 10:30pm on Friday (January 10) at the central office of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Bangla Motor, Dhaka.
Zahid Ahsan, the office secretary of the central committee, confirmed the matter to the media.
He said: "Some students came to our central office at night and put pressure on the leaders and activists to register them ad committee members. They wanted to forcefully join the committee. But, due to ideological reasons, they couldn’t be allowed. Later, during their argument with some of our central leaders and activists, a scuffle broke out."
