3 killed after being hit by car on Dhaka-Mawa expressway

Three motorcyclists were killed and one more was injured after being hit by a private car on the Dhaka-Mawa-Bhanga Expressway in Munshiganj’s Sirajdikhan area.

The accident occurred on Thursday night, August 21, around 11:00 PM, on the Mawa-bound service lane of the expressway.

Earlier the same day, another accident on the expressway near Sholghar student shed claimed the lives of three people when a private car overturned on the Dhaka-bound lane.

In just 17 hours, six people lost their lives on this highway.

The victims of the night accident were identified as Awlad Hossain, 23, Habil, 22, and Kayyum, 22. The injured person was identified as Imon, 20.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Naeem Siddique of Hasara Highway Police Station said that a red, numberless Pulsar motorcycle, heading from Shrinagar towards Nimtala, collided with an unknown private car coming from Nimtala towards Shrinagar. The three victims died on the spot, and efforts are underway to identify the private car involved in the accident.
