3 killed as bus hits autorickshaw in Natore

At least three passengers were killed and two others injured when a bus collided with an autorickshaw in Baraigram upazila of Natore.

The accident took place around 1:45pm on the Bonpara-Pabna highway in the Gunaihati area on Monday afternoon (October 6).

Police and Fire Service personnel rescued the injured and took them to a local hospital. The bodies have been kept in police custody, but their identities have yet to be confirmed.

Bonpara Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ismail Hossain said a passenger bus heading from Bonpara to Kushtia collided head-on with an autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction, leaving three passengers dead on the spot.

"The bus has been seized, though the driver and his assistant fled the scene. Police have launched an operation to arrest them," the OC added.
