3 killed as truck hits motorcycle in Bogura

Three young motorcyclists were killed instantly after being hit by a truck in Adamdighi upazila of Bogura.

The accident took place around 4:30pm near the Adamdighi Fire Service Station on the Bogra-Naogaon highway.

Two of the deceased have been identified as Shafiqul Islam Rinkon, 21, a resident of Dakshin Sathalia village in Gaibandha’s Saghata upazila, and Mushfiqur Rahman of Gokul Uttarpara in Bogura Sadar upazila. The third victim has been initially identified as Ashrafuzzaman.

SM Mostafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Adamdighi Police Station, said, "The three were heading toward Bogura when a truck coming from the opposite direction struck their motorcycle, resulting in their immediate deaths."

"Members of the local fire service recovered the bodies from the scene. Police have seized the truck, but the driver and his assistant managed to flee. Legal proceedings are currently underway," he added.
