3 killed in separate accidents in Dinajpur

Three people died in two separate accidents in Dinajpur on Friday. Among the deceased, two people, including the driver of a covered van, were killed when a pick-up van hit their vehicle at Phulbari upazila in Dinajpur.

Rezaul Karim, sub-inspector of Phulbari Police Station, said a Dhaka-bound pick-up van hit the back of the covered van at Dangapara near the headquarters of BGB's 29 battalion in Phulbari upazila on Gobindaganj regional highway in Dinajpur around 3am on Friday.

The speeding pickup truck lost control while going in the same direction and caused the incident, said SI Rezaul.

Meanwhile, a 103-year-old man died when a Panchagarh-bound Panchagarh Express train hit him near Chirirbandar railway station in Dinajpur around 7:30am on Friday. The deceased was identified as Zehar Uddin.
