3 killed in separated road accident in Cumilla
Three people were killed in separate road accidents in Daudkandi, Cumilla. Several others were injured in the incident.
Two workers in a tractor were killed when a bus hit them near Shayestanagar in the upazila on the Dhaka-Kachua road around 7:30 am on Saturday (December 7). In addition, one person lost his life in a collision between a bus and an auto-rickshaw in the upazila's Daulatpur area around 10:30 am.
Eliotganj Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kaushik Ahmed confirmed this information.
Police said that a Dhaka-bound Al Arafah Paribahan bus hit a brick-laden tractor near Shayestanagar around 7:30 am. The tractor overturned, killing brick kiln workers Borhan (28), son of Gias Uddin of Laxmipur village in the upazila, and Mohammad Ali (32), son of Syed Ali of Sadar upazila in Jamalpur.
Apart from this, a passenger of the autorickshaw died in a head-on collision between a Dhaka-bound Anirba Paribahan bus and a CNG-powered autorickshaw near Kachua Amirabad Road on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway. Several people were injured in the incident. They were rescued, given primary treatment and sent to Dhaka.
Police Sub-Inspector Md. Helal at the Gouripur Police Investigation Center said that the process of preparing post-mortem reports of the bodies and handing them over to their relatives is underway. The police have seized the deadly bus.
Eliotganj Highway Police OC Kaushik Ahmed said that the CNG-powered autorickshaw has been seized. However, the identity of the body has not been identified yet.
