Three people were killed and at least five others seriously injured in a three-vehicle collision involving a bus, an ambulance and a motorcycle on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in the Rampur area of Feni.

The accident occurred around 4:00 am on Sunday, March 22. The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the morgue of Feni 250-bed General Hospital. The identities of the victims have not yet been confirmed; police are working to identify them.

Feni Mohipal Highway Police In-Charge Asadul Islam said repair work was underway on one lane of the Chattogram-bound side of the highway. An ambulance was crossing slowly at the time when a bus from Shyamoli Transport hit it from behind.

This caused a traffic jam on the road, leaving several vehicles, including a motorcycle, stranded. Shortly after, a bus from Doel Transport, coming at high speed, lost control and crashed into the congested area.

The collision involving the bus, ambulance and motorcycle resulted in the deaths of a motorcyclist, a bus supervisor and a passenger.

Feni Fire Service and Civil Defence Senior Station Officer Md Shahadat Hossain said rescue operations began immediately after receiving the news. The damaged vehicles were removed, and the injured were rescued and sent to hospital.
