3 killed in Tongibari motorcycle accident

Three friends have been killed after a motorcycle they were on, which went out of control, collided with a stationary goods-carrying trolley on the road in Tongibari, Munshiganj. The accident occurred in the Jashalong area of the Sipahipara-Dighirpar road in the upazila around 10:00 pm on Thursday, February 5.

The deceased are Turjoy Majhi (28), Hossain Mohammad Sakib (27), and Md. Saniyat (29).

Local sources said the three friends were traveling on a single motorcycle when the driver lost control due to excessive speed. The motorcycle then crashed forcefully into the back of a goods-carrying trolley that was parked on the road. Md. Saniyat and Hossain Mohammad Sakib died at the scene. Turjoy Majhi was rescued in critical condition and taken to Munshiganj Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Dr. Ataul Karim from the emergency department of Munshiganj General Hospital stated that a person named Turjoy Majhi was brought to the hospital dead.

Tongibari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monirul Islam said the accident occurred as the motorcycle went out of control due to excessive speed. Two people died at the scene, and another died after being taken to the hospital in connection with the incident.
