3 killed including two brothers in Boalmari train collision

In Boalmari Upazila, Faridpur, a labour-carrying pickup van was hit by a train, killing three people, including two brothers. At least ten other workers were injured.

The accident occurred at the Sotashi railgate of the Upazila on Monday afternoon. Eyewitnesses said the victims were workers at a local jute mill in Dobra.

Locals said five of the injured were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, while the remaining five were admitted to Boalmari Upazila Health Complex.

Multiple eyewitnesses reported that the pickup carrying the jute mill workers was crossing the Sotashi railway crossing when the Bhatia Para Express from Rajbari struck the van, killing two men and one woman on the spot.

Upon receiving the news, Upazila Executive Officer S M Rokibul Hasan and Boalmari police officer-in-charge Md Anwar Hossain visited the scene.
