3 more die of dengue, 408 new cases reported in 24hrs

Three more dengue-related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours until Thursday morning, bringing this year’s total fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 95.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the deaths were reported in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

During this period, 408 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the number of confirmed cases to 23,220 this year.

According to the DGHS, new cases were reported as follows: 73 in Barishal Division (Out of CC), 58 in Chattogram Division (Out of CC), 59 in Dhaka Division (Out of CC), 37 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 57 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 37 in Khulna Division (Out of CC), 25 in Mymensingh Division, 52 in Rajshahi Division, three in Sylhet division and 4 n Rangpur (Out of CC).

At present, 1,326 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals nationwide. Last year, dengue caused 575 deaths.
