3 more die of dengue, 412 admitted to hospitals in 24hrs

Three more people died of dengue in the 24 hours till Monday morning, bringing the total number of deaths from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh this year to 118.

In the same period, 412 new patients were admitted to hospitals with dengue, pushing the total number of confirmed cases this year to 29,044, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The DGHS reported that two deaths occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and one in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).

The new cases were reported as follows: 102 in Barishal Division (Out of CC), 77 in Chattogram Division (Out of CC), 51 in Dhaka Division (Out of CC), 69 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 53 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 26 in Khulna Division (Out of CC), 4 in Mymensingh Division and 30 in Rajshahi Division (Out of CC).

Currently, 1,309 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals nationwide. Last year, dengue claimed 575 lives.
