3 more die of dengue in 24 hours, 1,432 hospitalised

Three more people have died of dengue across the country in the last 24 hours. During this period, 1,432 people were infected and admitted to hospital.

The information was provided in the regular dengue bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services on Saturday, September 26.

According to DGHS data, with this, a total of 214 people have died of dengue in the current year. Among them, 43 died in August alone. Additionally, 117 dengue patients died in the first 25 days of September, 36 in July, 13 in June, one in May and two each in January and February.

The bulletin stated that 1,432 people were admitted to various hospitals across the country with dengue infection in the 24 hours from 8am on Friday. With this, the total number of patients admitted to hospital this year has reached 71,536. In the last 24 hours, 1,429 people were discharged from hospital after recovery. So far, 66,256 have recovered and returned home.

In the last 24 hours, the highest number of patients, 566, were admitted to hospital in Dhaka division, 241 in Khulna division, 204 in Barishal, 209 in Chattogram, 112 in Mymensingh, 53 in Rangpur and 57 in Rajshahi.
