3 more test positive for COVID-19
Although no new deaths have been reported, three more people tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of confirmed cases in the country has risen to 2,051,742.
According to the regular COVID-19 press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the infections were detected from four samples tested between Saturday morning (June 7) and Sunday morning (June 8).
The bulletin also stated that six people recovered from the virus during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 2,019,366, while the death toll remains at 29,500.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the overall detection rate stands at 13.05 percent. In the last 24 hours, the positivity rate was 75 percent.
The first COVID-19 cases in the country were confirmed on March 8, 2020. The first death occurred ten days later, on March 18. The highest daily death tolls were recorded on August 5 and 10, 2021, with 264 deaths reported on each of those days.
