3 of a family killed by electrocution in Sunamganj

Three members of the same family have died from electrocution in Biswambharpur upazila, Sunamganj. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, July 6, in the Anantapur village.

The deceased are Nurul Amin, his wife Fatema Begum and their son Farhad Ahmed Shah from Anantapur village.

According to police and local sources, an electric wire snapped and fell on the tin roof of Farhad Ahmed Shah's shop during the afternoon. The entire shop became electrified. When Farhad touched the tin, he was electrocuted. His father Nurul Amin was also electrocuted while trying to rescue his son. Mother Fatema Begum also came into contact with the electricity while trying to save them. All three died on the spot.

The deaths of three members of the same family have cast a pall of mourning over the area.

Biswambharpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Shahin Mia confirmed the incident, saying the bodies have been handed over to the family after post-mortem. Police are at the scene, and further legal action is being taken.
