3 overpasses, 1 bridge inaugurated for homebound people during Eid
For the homebound passengers of the country’s northern region during the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the government has inaugurated Panchila overpass, Mulibari overpass, Dadpur overpass and Datia Setu on the Sirajganj highway.
At present, public vehicles including buses carrying homebound people are moving on the overpasses.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated the overpasses through a video conference around 11:30am on Saturday (March 6) and opened them for traffic.
At that time, Quader said, "The government has brought revolutionary changes in road communication. Therefore, on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the newly constructed overpasses have been opened so that the people of the northern and southern regions of the country can return home with relief without traffic jam.”
In this regard, SASEC-2 project manager Mahbubur Rahman told the media that under this project, three overpasses and one bridge on Elenga-Hatikumrul-Rangpur four-lane highway have been opened in Sirajganj. This will reduce the long-term suffering of the people during the Eid journey in the region.
