Three people have sustained burns when a residential building caught fire in the city’s Dhanmondi atea. The fire originated on the eighth floor of a 12-storey residential building on road no 5 at 10:25am on Wednesday, said Lima Khanam, a duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters. Six units of firefighters rushed in and brought the blaze under control at 11:17am and rescued the injured people, she added. The injured were sent to the hospital immediately.
