3 stabbed in Mymensingh over dispute among coordinators
A bloody clash erupted among the supporters of two groups of coordinators of anti-discrimination student movement on Friday (September 13).
At this time, three people were injured by stabbing. They have been admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
The incident took place around 7:30 pm in the town's Townhall intersection area.
Kotwali Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter.
The injured are Mehdi Hasan Mahfuz (18), Nabeel Siddiqui Niloy (19) and Minhaj Siddique (19).
According to the police and the coordinators, before Friday evening, there was an altercation between coordinator Anwar Hossain's friend Saeb A Rakat and Asifur Rahman, a close friend of coordinator Abdullah Al Naqib.
Later, when people from both sides gathered, Saeb took away two brothers of Asifur Rahman of the rival group which triggered a fight again between the two groups in the town hall area. At that time, the three students were stabbed.
Police officer Anwar Hossain said legal action will be taken after receiving a complaint about the stabbing incident.
