Three tourists have died while bathing at Himchhari beach in Cox's Bazar. One person has been rescued alive, while two others are still missing. The incident took place on the beach adjacent to the museum of Marina Resort in Himchhari on Wednesday evening. Md Zillur Rahman, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Ramu, confirmed the matter. He said a group of tourists went to bathe on the beach adjacent to the museum of Marina Resort. They were swept away by waves and currents. Locals rescued one of them alive and sent him to hospital. The UNO also said the bodies of three tourists have been recovered from the spot. A search is under way to find the two missing. Their identities are yet to be known.

কক্সবাজারের হিমছড়ি সৈকতে গোসলে নেমে তিন পর্যটকের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এ ঘটনায় একজনকে জীবিত উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। এখনো নিখোঁজ রয়েছেন আরও দুজন। বুধবার সন্ধ্যায় হিমছড়ির মারিনা রিসোর্টের জাদুঘর-সংলগ্ন সৈকতে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। রামু উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (ইউএনও) মো. জিল্লুর রহমান বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি বলেন, পর্যটকদের একটি দল মারিনা রিসোর্টের জাদুঘর-সংলগ্ন সৈকতে গোসলে নামেন। এ সময় তাঁরা ঢেউ ও স্রোতে ভেসে যান। স্থানীয় লোকজন একজনকে জীবিত উদ্ধার করে হাসপাতালে পাঠান। ইউএনও আরও বলেন, ঘটনাস্থল থেকে তিন পর্যটকের মরদেহ উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। নিখোঁজ দুজনকে উদ্ধারে তল্লাশি চলছে। তাঁদের নাম-পরিচয় এখনো জানা যায়নি।
