30 arrested in special drive in Dhaka
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detains 30 more individuals in special operations conducted in crime-prone areas of the capital. From them, police seize 640 yaba tablets, two bottles of phensedyl, 75 grams of cannabis, and Tk 2,92,990 in cash from illegal drug trade.
Police states that the arrestees, including those with regular cases and warrants, are involved in various crimes. They are sent to prison through the court. All detainees are produced before the magistrate.
Between October 7 and October 9 morning, those arrested from different areas under New Market Police Station are: Md Sajal Mia (42), Md Bajlu (39), Yusuf (39), Md Jahir (40), Md Monir Hossain (38), Md Yusuf (39), Md Habibur Rahman (40), Ashraful Islam (19) and Md Shahabuddin (40).
Meanwhile, those arrested from different areas under Pallabi Police Station are: Md Mohiuddin (22), Md Arman (30), Md Shakil (20), Md Sujon (25), Md Nahid Hasan (24), Md Kawser (18), Md Zahid (22), Md Riaz (19), Md Abdul Karim (20), Swapon Hossain (35), Md Nawab (22), Md Sohel (20), Md Rafik (23), Md Kabir Ahmed (20), Md Arif (21), Md Khairul Islam (20), Bishad Hasan (23), Md Shakil, Md Sohan Ahmed (22), Md Tushar Khan (25) and Md Hafizul Islam (22).
According to New Market and Pallabi police, all detainees already have one or more cases against them under narcotics and other laws.
