Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuz Alam has announced that at least 300 members of the July Movement fighters, and martyrs' families will receive training in journalism and film by December.

He made the announcement at the closing ceremony of the “Investigative Journalism Training for July Fighters” at the National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMC) on Wednesday (November 5).

Mahfuz Alam said July fighters and participants of the mass uprising should engage in the media sector to strengthen national interests and bring positive change.

He added that some individuals with pro-Awami League leanings still hold influence in media and work to destabilise the country, urging July fighters to take on that challenge.

The training initiative is being implemented under the supervision of PIB, NIMC, and BCTI. The adviser called on July fighters, martyrs’ families, and participants of the movement to join the programme.

NIMC Director General Nur Md Mahbubul Haque chaired the event, joined by Deputy Directors Mohammad Abu Sadeq and Sumona Parveen. Participants Aminul Islam Imon and Soheli Tamanna shared their reflections on the training.
