300 SAD members join BNP
300 leaders and activists of the Students Against Discrimination Movement in Sherpur have joined Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). They joined the party under the leadership of Sherpur district chief coordinator and spokesperson Farhan Fuad Tuhin.
The official joining ceremony was held at the Sherpur district BNP head office at 4 pm on Tuesday (January 6). At that time, BNP nominated candidate for Sherpur-1 constituency Sansila Zebrin Priyanka and Sadar Upazila BNP convener Alhaj Hazrat Ali welcomed the new leaders and activists to the party with flowers.
The leaders who joined included senior organizers Arafat Rahman Talukder, Nahim Ahmed Niloy, senior joint-member secretary Monibul Islam, coordinator Ashikur Rahman Ashiq, and more than 300 leaders and activists.
Farhan Fuad Tuhin said, “A one-party government will come in the upcoming elections. We see that BNP is the strongest major party. We joined the party with the aim of realizing the dream of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.”
Sadar Upazila BNP member secretary Saiful Islam, district Chhatra Dal acting president Hashem Siddique Babu, general secretary Naim Hasan Ujjwal, organizing secretary Zakir Hossain, volunteer party member secretary Niamul Hasan Anand and other leaders and activists were present at the joining ceremony.
