Chattogram Metropolitan Police, CMP, has imposed a ban on the entry and stay of 330 individuals in Chattogram city after identifying them as “miscreants”. A public notice in this regard was issued on Saturday afternoon. The notice, signed by CMP Commissioner Hasib Aziz, said the decision was taken by exercising powers under Sections 40, 41 and 43 of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police Ordinance, 1978. According to the notice, the individuals concerned will be barred from entering or staying within the Chattogram Metropolitan area until further instructions are issued. It added that legal action would be taken against anyone found violating the order.

চট্টগ্রাম মহানগরীতে ৩৩০ জন ব্যক্তিকে ‘দুষ্কৃতকারী’ হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করে তাদের নগরীতে প্রবেশ ও অবস্থানের ওপর নিষেধাজ্ঞা দিয়েছে চট্টগ্রাম মহানগর পুলিশ (সিএমপি)। শনিবার বিকেলে এ বিষয়ে একটি গণবিজ্ঞপ্তি জারি করা হয়। সিএমপি কমিশনার হাসিব আজিজের স্বাক্ষরিত বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানানো হয়, চট্টগ্রাম মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশ অধ্যাদেশ ১৯৭৮-এর ৪০, ৪১ ও ৪৩ ধারায় প্রদত্ত ক্ষমতা প্রয়োগ করে এই সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে। গণবিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, পরবর্তী নির্দেশ না দেওয়া পর্যন্ত এসব ব্যক্তির চট্টগ্রাম মহানগর এলাকায় প্রবেশ ও অবস্থান নিষিদ্ধ থাকবে। নির্দেশ অমান্য করলে সংশ্লিষ্টদের বিরুদ্ধে আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হবে বলেও বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে উল্লেখ করা হয়।
